I would like to tell you my testimony. I have always been a person of faith in myself, I work hard and try my best to be a good person and I thought it was enough. But I was blind and now I see.

I am now a new believer and was recently baptised because God has touched my life. I work as a doctor in Ireland and have always found my life quite fulfilling, but I was looking for something to complete me for a long time. My parents are Christians and I am sure it was through their prayers that I was saved.

In February 2011, I was bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding, and she sat me beside a Christian. He told me to read the Bible but I resisted saying it was too thick, so he told me to just read the book of John. I agreed but did not do it. Then I met another South African doctor who gave me a Bible and my boss also gave me a week off work. I was looking for readings for my wedding and decided to look in the Bible. I started with the Book of John and it was so interesting that I read it from the beginning to the end.

That night I was restless and scared and could not sleep. The next day, as I was standing in the heart of Limerick city, a kind man with brown hair and eyes walked straight up to me and handed me a CD. We exchanged no words but I just knew that this CD was a message to me from God. On the CD was written, "Marvel not that I say to thee, thou shall be born again" John 3:16. When I listened to the CD, I started crying, tears streaming down my face. It was about a doctor whose parents are missionaries in Malaysia. He sounded just like me with similar work ethic and background. He said his faith was strengthened after a conversation with a fellow Christian brought him back to the Lord. His all important relationship with God was renewed at the time he needed it most, as 6 months later he was diagnosed with cancer.

I knew there was a God but I didn’t realise He loved me this much. He sent his only one Begotten son to forgive our sins and lead us all into salvation. He truly, truly LOVES us and wants us to be part of His Kingdom in Heaven. I believe, I truly Believe.

Since then, my life has been filled with abundant Grace and Miracles. Myself, my dad, my nephew and niece were baptized on Sunday 4th of December 2011. I got married to the man of my dreams, in a fairy-tale wedding. God cares about us in many ways and shows it in many ways. If we put all our faith onto Him, He will guide us in the right direction.

If life seems hard and things are not going your way, take heart and truly put your trust in Jesus Christ.

It was through Jeannine that I first encountered Christianity. She invited me along to church a couple of times. After a while I agreed to attend the church, and when I entered I was greeted warmly. This was a little uncomfortable for me as I had never really fitted in, and wasn't used to receiving attention. I remember feeling quite uncomfortable and asking myself if these people ever had problems, as they all seemed to be smiling and happy. Everyone had their hands in the air, which I wasn't so sure about. It took me a while but I remember getting to the point where I felt as though I belonged there.

God began to work on my heart and through the friendship and patience of Jeannine I began to open up more. I accepted Christ into my life and asked him to take control. Nothing supernatural happened at that moment, but since then God has really taken care of me and revealed himself to me more and more. Without God my life would not make sense. I was getting into drink and becoming an angry young man before God intervened. He saved me from myself and called me out of darkness and into a real and fulfilling life.
