LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT - Tues 14th - Mon 20th JUNE 2011

Famous American actor, Steve McQueen, once said “I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth”. I trust you don’t have such distain for the city of Limerick.
Christians are to work for the peace, security, justice, and prosperity of their city and their neighbours, loving them in word and in deed, whether they believe what we do or not.
In Jeremiah 29:7, Israel's exiles were called not just to live in the pagan city of Babylon, but also to love it, pray for it and work for its shalom—its economic, social, and spiritual flourishing.
The citizens of God's city are the best possible citizens of their earthly cities.
Limerick City is what it is because its citizens are what they are. So, don’t live selfishly in the city. Don’t use the city or take from it. Instead, love and bless and make a healthy difference to the community.
Remember, a church is a dynamic movement of people who do deeds of service and spread the Gospel, which is the Power of God to rescue & change people.
Let's make Limerick a FAB city!
LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT is a special week of doing service in Limerick city. A very generous team from Owasso, Oklahoma, USA is coming to join us. Together with Limerick City Council, Limerick Co-ordinators and the local communities of Garryowen, Watergate & other areas, we will clean up, paint, have fun and make a difference!
Come with us to bless the city.
Let’s have people look at Limerick, and be able to read the hopes, aspirations and pride of everyone who live in it.
Sunday service
Our Sunday meeting is at Post Office Lane (behind Ulster Bank on O'Connell Street), Limerick at 11am and includes lively worship, Creche, Sunday School, breaking of bread, teaching, t/coffee etc.
All are welcome to join us as we worship, serve and enjoy God.
You will find Abundant Life an open, friendly and inclusive family environment with a lively mixture of cultures united with one heart.
St Patrick's Day Parade 2010
Another great day for Abundant Life at the St Patrick's Day parade 2010.
LIMERICK was IRELAND'S BIGGEST parade, led by grand marshall rugby star Keith Earls, with well over 3,600 people taking part - this made it a bigger festival, at least in terms of participating numbers, than Dublin, Cork or Galway.
More than 100 groups took part in the parade which had the theme 'I Love Limerick'. Estimated attendance was 60,000 - 70,000 people.
The Irish Times reported "Organisations from all walks of life were represented, with entries from Christian, sporting, business, immigrant and community groups."
We distributed 6,700 sweets, 2000 Abundant Life pens & approx 1200 prayer cards - thanks to our very fit distributors! Praise God for good weather & what a turn out!
Abundant Life's grand marshall was none other than the smiling Teresa Ryan.
Our banners looked fab, and our Love Limerick banner & International Flags group was seen on RTE Six One news last night.
Some of our mothers (Creche group) were interviewed for Radio and asked about Abundant Life. They looked amazing with T-Shirts, buggies, balloons and smiling faces.
John O'Brien's Love Limerick Logo looked great. The Young Life children were wonderful, singing Hillsongs "Rainbow - God's promises are true" - thanks to Lori & Breda, and AL (Christian) the gorilla made a lot of new friends.
Well done and thanks to all who supervised, applied their skills, participated & helped make it a fantastic day (too many to name) - but special thanks to Pawel & team for getting down the banners & painting the trailer, and Ken for driving & loading/unloading his car & trailer.
Once again, each one of you continue to bring honour to God & promote a vibrant, passionate & caring Christian church in Limerick.
Early Prayer Meeting
Every Thursday between 8am and 9am there is an early prayer meeting open to all who would like to pray. The meeting focuses primarily on youth and young adults, and is a powerful time of seeking the Lord for breakthrough on their behalf.
Clean Up Outreach at Canal
Thanks to John O'Brien for organising an amazing "Love Limerick" Clean Up Outreach on Monday, 15th March at the Canal.
We had a USA Team from Liberty School in Texas come to help us with 30 teenagers, and they worked hard in cleaning up a dirty area at the Canal. We approached Limerick Corporation & asked them if we could clean up a part of the St John's area &
they gave us the equipment & direction to make a difference.
A number of people stopped & asked "why we were doing it" - don't you love being asked that!!!!
We are doing a week long LOVE LIMERICK outreach from 6th - 9th July - do join us!
