LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT
LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT took place from Tues-Thurs, 6th-8th July 2010.
We were joined by a wonderful USA missions team, headed up Kevin & Ann Norwood (Laura Harmon, Vito Munoz III, Laina Munoz, Ashley Ward, Dan Harmon and Jordan Boyer).
This was an amazing week.
We really appreciated the trust & welcome that Sinead McDonnell, Environment Awareness Officer, Limerick City Council and Jean Ryan, Community Coordinator gave us.
It was a privilege to work with them in Red Path, Garryowen, Fairview Crescent and Watergate, and make a visable difference to Limerick. These guys are doing a great job and making Limerick a FAB city.
We were delighted to meet many of the community - Noel, Gerry, Bernie, John, Ger and other wonderful folks at the Alzheimers Day Care Centre in Kilmurry Court.
We picked over 110 bags of rubbish, nearly 50 bags of rubbish in one area, and cleaned up 15 greens in Garryowen.
Well done to all our guys who helped & happily worked really hard. And thanks to our superb USA team who selflessly & generously blessed the city of Limerick this week.
Our thanks also to Shannon Community Church, who provided a super basketball team from USA on Thursday afternoon in Watergate.

LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT - Tues 6th - Fri 9th JULY
Famous American actor, Steve McQueen, once said “I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth”. I trust you don’t have such distain for the city of Limerick.
Christians are to work for the peace, security, justice, and prosperity of their city and their neighbours, loving them in word and in deed, whether they believe what we do or not.
In Jeremiah 29:7, Israel's exiles were called not just to live in the pagan city of Babylon, but also to love it, pray for it and work for its shalom—its economic, social, and spiritual flourishing.
The citizens of God's city are the best possible citizens of their earthly cities.
Limerick City is what it is because its citizens are what they are. So, don’t live selfishly in the city. Don’t use the city or take from it. Instead, love and bless and make a healthy difference to the community.
Remember, a church is a dynamic movement of people who do deeds of service and spread the Gospel, which is the Power of God to rescue & change people - as we heard recently from our Teen Challenge friends.
Let's make Limerick a FAB city!
LOVE LIMERICK PROJECT is four days of doing service in the city of Limerick. A team from the USA is coming to join us. Together with Limerick Co-ordinators and the local communities of Garryowen & other areas, we will clean up and make a difference!
Come with us to bless the city.
Let’s have people look at Limerick, and be able to read the hopes, aspirations and pride of everyone who live in it.
