Website update
As you have hopefully noticed, the Abundant Life website has taken another significant step forward. The outline on the top and left of the page is now (hopefully) the final incarnation, and the remainder of the page is in the form of a blog site.
The idea behind this format is that those who are involved in running various groups and ministries in the church, or who are willing to share testimonies, can be given a login and can directly add their own content to the site. The effect of this will be a website that is fresh and constantly being updated - hence interesting and compelling.
Please do explore the site as it is - not all the links currently go anywhere, but dream with us, and pass on your ideas and feedback through the contact form.
Thanks and God bless,
Martin
Latest update: - SUNDAY last, what a morning!
Yes, once again God turned up at our Sunday morning service.
We enjoyed wonderful worship, including a time of listening to a real life story of God's rescuing a girl's life from tragic circumstances.
Then, we heard the story of a woman's "best Christmas ever" in 2009, because Jesus came into her life months ago, changed her live and gave her hope for the future. Yippee! We also had many prayers for the people in Haiti, and made a special collection for them, which we will forward to Convoy of Hope ministry, who are serving the people of Haiti at I write this.
The Gospel brings Hope to people. We are here to bring Hope to our city, hope to the poor and the needy.
Hope does not translate well in English. Many people understand "hope" as having a desire, usually with some possibility of fulfillment e.g. "I hope to meet you tomorrow", which has uncertainty built into it.
But hope in the Scriptures, the hope Jesus talks about, is anticipating with pleasure what God has already planned & purchased for you and me. It is expecting something good to happen - no uncertainty. The Gospel brings hope, and hope brings confidence and certainty. Therefore, we respond with trust.
If you’re in certainty, the results will be evident by the way you live NOW. Certainty about our future will mean we are changed by it now.
Being in Christ, gives us a bright and eternal secure future in a troubled world.
I pray you will know the hope of God's calling on your life this week!
If we can help you - please contact us.
Have a great week!
